I did the GGW in 2015 with my Cocker spaniel in 4 days. . I used our campervan and buses for transport. We did it inverness to fort william as that way you get the hard bit out the way first and then the last couple days you have splendid views of the grey corries and nevis range as you edge closer ...

I did this walk nearly 3 years ago, but did it in reverse and starting at Portsoy. The coastline between Cullen and Portsoy is not part of 'the way' but well worth the extension if you have the time
