Re: Could we be down to 282 Munros?

Having just completed all 6 a few weeks ago, I think it would be pointless to miss it out and head straight for Sgurr Ban. It's a classic horseshoe walk and BAC deserves to be included, Munro or not.

Nice report & pics, especially the Loch Etchachan one - lovely contrast of the blue against the white.

Re: Chochuills and Muscles

Nice report & pics. I was not too far away on Stob Ghabar. Weather was superb, if a little windy. 360* views all round.

Re: Beinn Ghlas & Ben Lawers

Nice report. I find the BG appraoch you took to be a long trudge and much prefer going around the west side and upt o BL first. Some cracking pics too. I once took on that road in winter, rather cockily I may add, in my wife's brand new 4x4 as a shortcut into Glen Lyon. They say that every day is a ...

Re: Defeat on century bid – towel thrown in at Loch Etchachan

You made the right decision. The hills aren't going anywhere and you can always come back. That's my mantra.
Having done that walk myself it's very do-able, especially with the aid of a bike to Dery Lodge.

Re: Ben Gulabin on Hogmanay

Nice report. The Snow looks pretty scant which is surprising for the East. Went up Creise & Meall a Bhuiridh on the 1st and couldn't believe how high up the snow line was.

Re: Beinns a'Chreachain, Achaladair & Mhanach - lesson learned

Nice report. SInce you mention it in your report, my great-great grandfather was born at the house at Barravourich. A family of 12 lived there working on the land, at a time long before the main road was ever thought of.

Re: Liathach, Torridon

Nice post. I climbed this on a similarly good day. It would be a pity to do otherwise. I do also think that like the AE ridge, Liatach's reputation is over-exaggerated and it is not a technically challenging walk. Not that I want to detract from what is a cracking walk. It's got to be East to West f...
