Exactly what I thought of while reading it!

Brilliant report

No rail access to Corrour/Rannoch in mid-March

In case anyone is planning a walking trip between March 16th-24th. West Highland Line closed for maintenance of Rannoch viaduct and other signalling/upgrades etc. Replacement bus services to most other stations but not to Corrour or Rannoch for obvious reasons... https://www.networkrailmediacentre.c...

Re: Hiking Eateries

Cu Mara on the lochside in Arrochar. Superb takeaway, pricier than most but absolutely worth it. Haven't tried the sit-down bistro but any food establishment that scores 4.8 out of 5 on Google Maps from 350 reviews must be doing alright...

Re: Beinn Dearg 4 munros camping

If approaching from the south/east (in combination with Am Faochagach probably to avoid the wet crossing to the road) there is a good spot at the northern end of Loch Prille as per mrssanta's report here: https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=84121

Re: Campsite locater

Pitchup is worth checking, as is using Google Maps zoomed to the area you require and searching for 'campsite'. Assuming you are walking in a fairly direct line (i.e. not around the coast) then only Blinkbonny Wood appears to be en route. More options nearer the coast.

Re: Alternate Ben Nevis Route

As jmarkb says the alternatives at the start of Ledge Route can be a bit confusing. If you want to avoid the tricky outward-sloping slab (particularly if it has been raining before/during your approach) then the following report by Cairngorm creeper gives a very good description of the 'easier' alte...

Re: First Camping Trip

Comrie Croft. Within walking distance of the easy Munro Ben Chonzie, plus mountain bike hire on site if you/your son are into that. Wide variety of different tent pitches, from close to the facilities to further out (which would allow you to test kit in a semi-wild camping location before buying new).

Re: Goatfell - My First, My Last, My Everything

Bravo  I love retrospectives like this that show how walkers got the bug. Most involve some element of pain/navigational challenge, remarkable that we come back for more really!

Re: Beinn a' Ghlò Alternative Routes via Glen Tilt

In late April 2019 (so a bit more daylight than if you are planning this for the next month) I walked from Blair Atholl over all the Beinn a'Ghlo tops to the 728m col between Meall a'Mhuirich and Meall Gharran. From here I descended due east, crossing An Lochain easily to camp at Cumin's Cairn at th...

Re: Top o' Selside, Coniston

Bit late to this but some great photography  I've camped at Dodgson Wood with Explorer scouts before, this was 6-7 years ago probably. Really lovely site secluded away from it all. There was a mucky old mess tent 'permanently' pitched in the upper area near the compost toilets that I assume ha...

Re: Britain-wide map coverage gone

Bing maps are good for looking at free Explorer mapping. However if you want to have an Explorer-level GPS route planner in the same format as WH then the following is better than Bing:

Re: Another change to Hewitts list (England & Wales)

I'd got this one already so no change for me. Mallerstang is lovely though - take the Settle & Carlisle line to either Garsdale or Kirkby Stephen and walk back along the tops. :)
