Re: Wild Camping at Kingshouse

I passed there last week on the West Highland Way and the normal free camping area over the small bridge at the Hotel is fully intact (and plenty people using it) and there are no works going on over the bridge at all.

Re: West Highland Way - Beginners Guide

As others have said, look after your feet. Feet, Feet, Feet. I can't stress it enough. If you feel anything wrong then stop and deal with it. Don't say, I can manage another 7 miles and then deal with it. Deal with it immediately and you'll have a better chance of a successful trip. I've a friend wh...

Re: All Munro is 3 years - charity attempt

Good luck and I'm sure John will complete them all when he has a worthy cause at the heart of his goal. I've been doing them for 45 years and still haven't managed them all!

Re: SOCKS

I always wear the Bridgedale Summit socks with the Bridgedale Coolmax liners regardless of the time of year, the weather conditions or the footwear I'm wearing. I use this combination with 3 season boots, summer boots and trail shoes simply because it works for me and that's the key. Whatever works ...

Re: Munro done?

prog99 wrote:Yes, he's an idiot

Did you ask him if he drove to the start or walked in from sea level.

I quite agree.
How you decide to do a series of hills is up to you and no one else. As long as you enjoy yourself and stay safe that's the important thing.

Re: The West Highland Way... Backwards?

Hi

The only real difference about walking North to South is that the sun will be in your face if you are lucky enough to get a glimpse. I'll be walking the WHW at the same time from Milngavie to Fort William from 23rd to 28th and so I'll say hello. :D
