Cattle Glen Etive

Hi, does anyone know if there are cattle grazing freely anywhere on the three walk Highlands Munro routes in Glen Etive. I've seen reference to a track churned up by cattle on the Meall nan Eun route. I plan to walk there with my dog this weekend and walk it's put the wind up me.

Bidean nam Bian

Does anyone know please, if the snow that can lie later into summer, described in the WH route for Bidean nam Bian, has melted yet and, if not, is it safe to cross without crampons? Thanks

Lost sunglasses beginning of the grey corries

Lost pair sun glasses (with pink arms) after leaving the track on the WH Grey Corrie's route. They would be nearer the line of the forest (taking an easier angle up) than the GPX download. Thanks to anyone who reads this and has a look.

lost GPS N/NNW of Carn Beag Dearg

If anyone is doing Carn Mor Dearg from the Allt Daim (not sure why you would, I was only there because I had got lost in the forest earlier!) please could you look out for a Garmin Oregon 500 which I most likely dropped in the area shown in orange on the map. Though it could be within the purple cir...

Re: Looking for Munro buddy(s) summer/autumn 2021

Hi, I'm a woman in my mid sixties, wanting to do the Forcan ridge and five sisters (Kintail) Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. I've done 176 MUNROS but looking to up the scrambling routes. I have quite a good head for heights (I think!). If interested, please message me.

2016 Summary

Mucky Boots and Flawless Paws - 2016 Summary Top 1.jpg I anticipated that the texture of my Munro adventure was going to be a rich and varied tapestry, with climbing the hills as the central hub on a wheel of many spokes. In 2016, the hub embraced a further 21 Summits, bringing the total so far to ...

The Munro Project, remembered

Mucky Boots and Flawless Paws 10 Years in the Munros The Raison D'etre Mortal Man.jpg Climbing the Munros wasn't the first thing that popped into my head, as the obvious initiation rite for reaching that auspicious milestone of 60. Other less demanding celebrations had been shelved, in the six mont...

Re: Lost GPS and Mobile Phone

Hi Steve, So pleased you saw this post and thanks for the note you left. I remembered in the middle of that cold night (ice on the inside of my van too!) that I had stopped to take my jacket off above the rock I had sat on. Found my way back to the rock again and it was about 200m further up! Hope y...

Re: Lost GPS and Mobile Phone

Update - I went back up Chno Dearg yesterday, looking for a needle in a haystack and micraculously found the camera case. All contents still in working order, despite the frost - phew! Thanks to anyone who read the post, might have been walking on Chno Dearg, and was going to keep an eye out..

Lost GPS and Mobile Phone

Lost on coming down from Chno Dearg, phone and GPS in blue camera case between one-third and two-thirds down in a north-westerly direction, near but not on a vague path. If by any chance anyone spots this, please take home and contact bernadette_walsh@hotmail.co.uk. Many thanks.

The South Glen Shiel Ridge

$matches[2] $matches[2] It was a near perfect morning, on 29th August 2020, as I set off to see if I could complete a long held dream, bagging seven Munros in one day, by tramping across the South Glen Shiel Ridge, in Kintail. However, this awesome ambition required a little prior problem solving. ...

Re: Stiles on Ben Challum

Many thanks, I'll have a look at the route. I should be able to haul my collie over a waist high fence, though I'm not sure he'd be amused by an electric fence!!
