Re: Leaving car at Crianlarich

Call in at police station, next the pub Rod and Reel, or something like that. He is an understanding and decent sort, allowed me to overnight with motorhome. Was knackered after day in hills and road was blocked by a an accident. If you explain I'm sure he will keep an eye on your car. Wouldn't leav...

Re: Finding a pitch in areas of long tussocky grass

I'm hoping to do some wild camping soon in hilly areas, I'm a bit worried that when it comes time for pitching up the tent, I'll be surrounded by tussocky long grass and gorse. Is it mainly down to luck in finding a decent level patch thats been trimmed down by grazing? Has anyone pitched on the lo...

Re: Lost Valley done! Adventure Walk Suggestions Needed Plea

Sorry i apologise I fhink my answer was out of order.
The Nevis trail to Steall waterfall is an amazing walk but maybe you might consider something more challenging.
There is a resource on here "ten easiest Munros" . Have a look through them 😉

Re: Lost Valley done! Adventure Walk Suggestions Needed Plea

Id head down to Cornwall and do the coastal path,
The Scottish hills are boring beyond belief.
I'd head South 😎

Re: Unusual summit features

It would seem the the hills in England and Wales are seemingly all very interesting with such wonderful appendages. Scotland by contrast are so mundane and boring bereft of anything which would recomend anyone considering visitng them. So everyone, for your own gratification please head South of tbe...

Re: Waterfalls near Dundee?

No need to travel that far, most have one in the bathroom, commonly called a shower, but it is a waterfall ?

Re: from Braeriach to Cairn Toul

Should have read the whole post better, you are doing it from South ok not like the Lake district paths (2 lane motorways) and Cairn Toul is a boulder hop from any direction 😊

Re: from Braeriach to Cairn Toul

Braeriach to Angels peak, down Angels peak to the beginning of the ascent to Cairn Toul is straightforward, especially in reasonable visibility. Cairn Toul itself is a pure boulder hop ! The obvious descent to Corrour is to make your way to Devils point, might as well bag it too ! What you propose i...

Re: Rab Jacket Repair

Can't speak for Rab repairs but I had occasion to use Paramo and £30 to repair a rip on one sleeve was reasonable on a £200 + jacket. Only bitch was on the time it took, thankfully twas whilst jacket was not required 🙄

Re: South Glen Shiel Ridge and the Five Sisters

Passing through Kintail this week I noticed that the carpark at the Cluanie Inn has been taken over by the construction vehicles and caravans, it looks like it will not be available for walkers to use for many months, if indeed it does get reopened for the public! Just back from doing SGS Ridge, Th...

Re: Escape routes, South Glen Shiel Ridge

Cheers for the info. The general consensus is to possibly use escape route, if needed, from the 4th Munro and the rest would continue on with any other escape route being used only in case of an emergency. Just making sure that we have a back up. We all managed The Ring of Steall fine except that b...
