Re: Help identifying birds

Most of them are tree sparrows. There are two siskins (male and female) on the peanut feeder. The male is the greener one hanging upside down.

Re: Denfinella's lockdown birdlife diary

Looks like a skylark to me. I've seen plenty of them in the Pentlands before.

Re: Where's the picture ? - Scotland (part 3)

Sorry it's taken so long. Where was this picture taken? Bonus points for name of lighthouse and islands in the background.

Re: Devils Point, Cairn Toul and Angel's Peak from Linn of D

Interesting, descriptive report with nice photos  . I was quite interested in this route as it looks great for a long summer day. One question-do you think it would be possible to cycle a bit past Derry lodge and if so, how much further and what is the path like?
Thanks

Re: Mount Keen on the hottest day of the year!

Lovely report! I was up Mount Keen yesterday and the views were nothing like as good as that because of the cloud on the higher hills-still a great day out though. I climbed it from Glen Tanar to the north with the help of a mountain bike. Glen Tanar is well worth a visit-if not for Mount Keen then ...

Re: First solo Munro- and the fine Scottish sunshine!

Great report. I did both of them the day before you when it was fantastic weather with great views. Was slightly colder and windier when we did it, but luckily that gave some respite from the heat. The weather was amazing at the start of May, so I hope you enjoyed being out in it. Fingers crossed th...

Re: Beinn Bhuidhe via Glen Shira

Hi, What is the surface like up Glen Shira? Just wondering how far I could go with a road bike per say? Fancying this at the weekend but I'll already have my road bike with me and don't want to bring my MTB too! Cheers Sam Surface is good tarmac and you can cycle 8.5-9 kilometres each way. Most of ...

Re: Good (ShortHike Between Pitlochry and Torridon

Fionn Bheinn is a great wee walk that offers good views of Torridon, Fisherfield and the Fannaichs. It is close to Torridon and only takes 4-5 hours at a reasonably casual pace.

Re: New Munro?

You needn't worry: that's shoddy journalism. If confirmed it will be a new Munro Top, not a new Munro: before the resurvey it had 35m of reascent, so maybe 41/42m now, nothing like enough to warrant separate mountain status. And if you've done the Stob Ban to MnC traverse, you will have climbed it ...

New Munro?

Saw this article on The Scotsman website. Would be a shame for me having Tom282 as my username if there was a 283rd Munro

Re: Nobody Ever Mentions The Weather Can Make or Break Your

Great entertaining report, . As a bit of an Oasis-nut myself, I love your title. I was up Being a'Ghlo back in late September with great weather up to Carn Liath. Clouded over between the first two Munros, and by the second summit it was blowing a gale and lashing down with hail. With nothing...
