Re: Beinn a' Ghlo Overnighter

Thanks fellas. Yep, maybe a bit too dedicated - I was paying for the lack of sleep the next day.

Beinn a' Ghlo Overnighter

I didn't manage to get out in the hills over the winter. After my Fisherfield trip , I wanted to get out again and do something cool but marathon training took over and I never found the time to do anything. The weather was poor for most of May but a small window appeared for Thursday and Friday. I ...

Dave.

Thanks. I've got those 3, but I've no time!

I think it might be Kintail/Affric next.

Re: The Fisherfield Six

I've got some semi-formed plans for Knoydart but I have to wait until winter is over. My friend works in Inverie, so I need to take in the hostelry there as part of any trip.

Re: The Fisherfield Six

It was a Panasonic Lumix TZ7. It's repairable, just a dent in the zoom mechanism but it's stopping it from working. Frustrating. Doubly so - I imagine carrying a non-functioning camera would have been weight you didn't need :? And the tripod. If I'm honest, I just forgot about it after I did it - n...

Re: The Fisherfield Six

Thanks all. It's all relative - I know some folks that would cover this ground a lot more quickly than I (but they wouldn't be carrying quite so much kit - map, compass and waterproofs and not much else, I think). I think I need to do a few more of these next summer, and see if I can build a bit mor...

Re: The Fisherfield Six

I think I'm diseased. I only really see things in terms of the challenge. If it was easy, I don't know if I'd bother. I always seem to be about covering as much ground as possible in the time available to me.

I don't know why I think like this.

Re: The Fisherfield Six

Thanks :) I'll let you know Phil. Company is always good (though I'm glad no-one got to see me make a hash of setting up my bivi!). Often times, I prefer not to plan too far in advance, since the weather is so fickle. I don't mind a bit of adverse weather but long days like these are dangerous if th...
