Bach an Eich - Strathconon

Parked my car in the large car park half way along Loch Beannacharain and Wee Jess and I headed along the road towards Scardroy Lodge at the top of the Loch. IMG_7044.JPG It is a good track up to Corrievuic, which I couldn't make my mind up if the building there was abandoned or not. Down to the sub...

Meall a Ghiubhais

On checking a good forecast Wee Jess and I left the car at the Beinn Eighe Mountain Trail car park on the banks of Loch Maree just west of Kinlochewe. The sky was blue and there was hardly a cloud up there. I had stayed in Gairloch and when I left it was blowing a gale but wasn't windy at Loch Maree...

Meall a Bhuachaille & Creagan Gorm & Meall a Bhuachaille

We left the car at Glenmore and walked up the beautiful trail to the Green Lochan, IMG_5310.JPG An Lochain Uaine which was a mysterious dark green today. Decided to walk up to the bothy at Ryvoan first before ascending up to the summit of Meall a Bhuachaille. I started off at 0850 hours and never sa...

Walk round Loch Clair Coulin Estate & lunch at Tea House

Off to Torridon for low level walk with my dog Wee Jess. As I drove up the Torridon road, I realised that I had made the correct choice as the weather was grey and overcast, Parked up on the side of the road near to the turning down towards Coulin. 1.jpg Followed the level road which follows the sid...

Walk up to the bothy at Loch a Bhraoin

Low level walk up to the Bothy at the head Loch a Bhraoin, good level path all the way and given that it's the middle of January the weather was kind - well it threatened rain all morning but it was 9 degrees and the waterproofs stayed in my rucksack! Many burns running off the hill into the loch bu...

Circuit Loch Kernsary, Poolewe

Left my car at the lay-by on the sea front, would use the stated car park just over the Poolewe bridge, if it was in the Summer. IMG_4326.JPG Wee Jess and I set off early, the sun was just trying to get over the hills. Easy start as sign posted we'll and it didn't take long before we felt we were al...
