Re: Ever camped in Campsie Glen ?

And so did the Meikle Bin wild camp ever take place? I am looking at Miekle Bin as wildcap #3 with my daughter.

Wild camp 2: Whitelees

Aftrr the success of my first wild camp (see the Kipatrick Hill post in General), my daughter persuaded me to wild camp for a second night. With other things on we chose a short journey to the Carrot Farm entrance to Whitelees Windfarm. After pitching up at 5pm and leaving at 8.30am the next morning...

Re: Wild camp - Kilpatrick Hills

And so my first wild camp took place. After a night camping near Ormsary, being dropped off at 5pm left me enough time to summit Dumolin. I saw a couple who had pushed a pram up to Loch Humprehy - nobody else. The views down the CLyde were stunning lulling me in to a sense of security. The higher I ...

Wild camp - Kilpatrick Hills

I am planning my first wild camp with my son  (I've done this years back in England). Has anyone wild camped in the Kilpatrick Hills area - I know its not the most romantic but its a start as we return from Campbletown. I am looking at the Dounghnut Hill area or (2) beyond Loch Humphrey. Our ...

I was hoping for more!!!!!

I've been looking forward to this hill for a while. After Beinn Dubh yesterday I was aching slightly but fancied the "quiet Monday" walk. The inital steep walked was soon replaced by the repaired path. I am not being critical of repairing paths, I just feel the boulder/steps are so large i...

Re: Beinn Dubh

Thanks for the reply, definella. We had a stunning walk though chose to come down as the kids were cold. My daughter and I made it to the snow line when the gusts started blow her sideways it became a little unsafe. [url][url=https://flic.kr/p/QPBhbp] https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2319/32043883523_e...

Beinn Dubh

After a hard few weeks of family grievance I need out tomorrow. I'm planning up Beinn Dubh on my own - is this a straight forward walk being aware of the wind/cold etc.

My alternative is Ben A'An.

Any thoughts on these given the current conditions?

Re: Flickr/Onedrive uploads.

An excellent explanation.

Is it possible to embed photos directly from Google Photos ie: where I cloud backup my pictures to.

Re: Hound on hill

A lovely recound of your walk up Tinto. Two questions: was your dog off his lead for most of the walk and, two, what type of lead/harness do you use when you walk?

A lovely area

A very pleasant walk around the Doune area and castle. We've completed it at different times of the year and it always brings something new.

Re: Cochno Loch

My first time using the site and wow, what a great walk. I only did half of the loop as I wanted to reach the trig point at Slacks. The partial route I followed was accurate. A very peaceful walk only passing 3 people in 3 hours.
