Re: Name that Corrie!

The Munro we are talking about is further west than Gleouraich, but some of Gleouraich may be in the picture on the right beyond it.

Re: Name that Corrie!

... and as I noticed while browsing online maps, recent editions of the OS maps use a corrected Gaelic spelling of the loch not an anglicised one, so its second word no longer starts with a high scoring Scrabble letter!

Re: Name that Corrie!

I think it may be time for hints on this one. We were on the way up a Corbett by a sea-loch, looking roughly East towards a Munro by a large reservoir part of which was a natural lake.

Well done. It was a five pound note but the rest is right. Your turn.

Re: Name that Corrie!

Toll Ban, on Beinn Damh? tim That's the one Tim. All yours. Thanks Mal Grey! The corrie on the left of this photo is not named on OS maps, but can you say where it is? 26046732592_014af8ad06_k.jpg I know this one, but since I was there it would be cheating to say what it is. I remember the spectacu...

Re: Nottingham lockdown walks

Stunning photos of a huge variety of scenes. A real celebration of spring! Just shows how much there is to see under our noses, if you know where to look for it. Hope you are keeping well! Nottingham lockdown walks

As a non-driver living in an urban area, my walking options have been very limited. This has prompted a lot of exploration of the smaller green spaces within and around where I live (West Bridgford on the south side of Nottingham). I won't bore you with the details of these walks (15 separate walks ...

Re: High Stile ridge from Buttermere

Great photos of a fine route! You got much closer to Scale Force than I did back in the 1970s, when I remember the place as an overgrown bracken jungle on very soggy ground. But above the waterfall, I recall getting back near to the "Peak District" style stream among the luxuriant heather...

High Stile ridge from Buttermere

It has taken me far too long to write this up, but this was the best day of my week in the Lakes last September. Having left the hostel at Buttermere, I took the direct path to Scale Bridge https://live.staticflickr.com/1951/43057907450_9688633eba_k.jpg High Stile etc by Beery Hiker , on Flickr The ...
