Re: Stob a'Choire Mheadhoin and Stob Coire Easain

It looks like you guys are having far too much fun! :D These two hills look very familiar to me - there's almost as much snow in your report as I had in February - except for the prow! I loved the top of Stob Coire Easain - I thought it was a great summit! Great report, Bod, keep having fun!

Re: The boring Cairngorm Mountain

You cannae fool me that you were bored on that walk! You've got some great photos there. :D I especially like the shots into the sun with the inversion below. It definitely looks like another (well populated!) planet. That weather station scared the wits out of my wife and I as we stood at the...

Re: Bidean nam Bian

Great fun, gman! :D It was good to see this route with snow on it. I was up there in the autumn just the snows had arrived. Ice and snow fairly changes the whole character of a mountain route. Your "reverse front pointing" sounds impressive - but the bum slide sounds much more fun! (...

Re: The Pass of Drumochter, Dalnaspidal Forest

Great report, Bod - and some fascinating skies and impressive cornices! :D I don't know about the bone. Maybe some other dog (not Ritchie) is still wondering where he left his lunch! Is that bridge (at the foot of the Sow) new? We (or at least some of us! ) got wet fording that burn last...

Re: Weekend "break" – a "trip" report.

Gee whiz! I was reading through this and thinking, "This is a report with a difference!" - even before you got to the hills! :D And then it just gets better, and better - then worse! :( ( at least for GGE!) I hope the ankle heals real soon Gable! 8) It just goes to show why we carry all th...

Re: Moncreiffe Hill - nipping out to the local for mid-term

Ah! Our local wee hills! It's good to recognise them - and enjoy them, Graeme! :D It looks an enjoyable wee walk and I get the impression Ailsa enjoyed it too! You know, in no time at all, she will be in wee boots and making her way up there with you all by her own power! :D BTW "Going on a bea...

Re: A wee walk up West Lomond

Yes, Sarah86, the Bonnet Stane is well worth a visit - and why not pop up West Lomond when you are there! :D It's a pity the Stane is not marked on OS maps (the grid reference is around NO 188072) but maybe that keeps it a wee bit secret! 8) It really was quite a contrast in temperatures, Chris. I w...
