Re: Britain-wide map coverage gone

I've been using WH for several years to plot my routes in the UK. Be they in the Cairngorms or on Dartmoor. The loss of support for the southern UK on the mapping site is a major loss, for those of us that do most of our walking in the Southern highlands of the UK.

Re: Epic day climbing Tahurangi on Mt Ruapehu with my lad

Good job you didn't choose White Island     Sad and tragic. The tour operators need shutting down. We could see the column of gas from the erruption from our b&b in Rotorua 50miles away. Not had the tv on since we arrived 5 weeks ago,so you probably know more about i...

Epic day climbing Tahurangi on Mt Ruapehu with my lad

I had the good fortune to fly out to New Zealand to visit my son. Part of the deal with the Mrs was that we got one day to climb a mountain. :D So after months of planning and weeks of weather watching as New Zealand enjoyed a massive low pressure system pass south of the islands, we finally choose ...

Hi from Cornwall

I have been using the site for a few years mainly to plot and plan GPS routes Dartmoor. I'm planning another trip North this winter, so it's probably about time I said hello properly and asked you good folks for some tips on walking in proper mountains.

Modest Am Mam, Worth a drive up to Skye for.

I walked this route on a Beautiful day at the end of May. I'd driven up from Cornwall to Climb Ben Nevis and needed a rest today. The first section to the Fairy pools was very busy, there were people in flip flops, (not recommended), but the first section really is a picture perfect little tourist t...
