Re: New waterproof jacket

I managed to get a haglofs rubus jacket. It has a slightly weightier feel which I love. I am tall and it is a really good length. Fantastic waterproofing. Very happy with my choice...hooefully will last as long as my husband's haglof waterproof....10 years and still fantastic.

Re: Packable Daypack recommendations?

We swear by osprey rucksacks. My husband is tall and finds them really comfortable. Good quality.

Advice about a fleece

I am going to get my husband a fleece for Christmas....I am stuck between two!
1 FJÄLLRÄVEN Men's Buck fleece or
2.VAUDE Men's Tinshan Jacket Iii
Is it more comfortable and warmer to have some wool content like the Vaude or completely manmade fibre like the Buck?
Would really appreciate any thoughts!

waterproof overtrousers for a tall husband

I am trying to find some reasonable waterproof over trousers for my tall husband....they need to be at least a 34inch leg, if not a bit longer. Something that packs up and fits in the rucksack would be ideal. Really appreciate some help!

What a fantastic walk. Only one error in the description.....the walk is anti clockwise around the island NOT clockwise! Everything was perfect and we were lucky with the weather. The views over the Mainland, Hoy and Scapa Flow were wonderful. We have been wanting to do this walk for a couple of yea...
