Conditions In Glencoe

Thinking of heading to the wee bookil this weekend for my 50th Munro. Anyone been up there recently, how is the snow...are crampons required or is it mostly gone?

Would be nice to get to 70 Munros by the end of this year..on 48 now so its well achievable..

Another few Wainwrights would be nice too. :-)

Great pics, its a steep wee climb is Ben Vane..looks like you had fab conditions...took us two attempts to crack it after being driven back by bad weather on the first attempt.

Great hills that are not given the credit they deserve....we did these 2 last weekend. We got views from Sgorr Dhonuill but saw nothing from Sgorr Dhearg.

Good report and pics. Its a nice walk this one but the bog trot at the end just spoils it a bit!...it was really bad when we did it and you are so glad to reach the landrover track! :lol:

Great stuff!...we descended the same way when we done this one a couple of years ago,though there was not as much snow...its a very steep descent eh!..I remember spending most of it on my bum!..lol Its a fantastic mountain...looks like you guys had an awesome day.. Well done! :-)

I was up Ben Vorlich 3 weeks ago. Its a steep wee bugger.Some snow was still on the summit ridge,was quite deep at parts but fine and grippy for walking on with lots of footprints to follow. You should have no problems. This hill can be a bit awkward if the clag is down as route finding can be dodgy...
