Re: Cycling to Corrour Shooting Lodge Loch Ossain

I drove in from A86 eight years ago when I stayed in one of the cottages. The track was very smooth once past the forest where there had been some work going on, but that wasn't too bad. It was quite an adventure as it was in the dark. The return in the light was most enjoyable with a feeling of rem...

Re: Looking After Your Tent

Must be bone dry before storage(check the guy-lines are dry). I tie up the guys on mine too, it makes it so much easier when pitching next time, no tangles to sort out. I also store my tent loose, not rolled and packed in the bag. My theory (without anything to back it up) for doing this is that as ...

Re: Glen Brittle - Parking

Took a walk on the beach at Glen Brittle today (21st July) arrived at 4pm and the carpark was almost full, a bit of space left for a couple of cars.

Left at 6pm and there were still a lot of cars but a few more spaces.

The same for the hostel carpark.

Skye getting busy.

Re: Name that Loch!

Cheers, no mistaking that row of stones, sometimes under water, sometimes high and dry. It's quite a moving experience when canoeing over the pipe outlet from Loch Mullardoch as the loch gets topped up. Creates quite a current (there's a pun in there) flowing towards the dam. Now for a short pause w...

Re: sexist womens gear

As a bloke I am no expert on women's clothing however many (many) years ago I worked for an outdoor gear retailer and have had an eye on how the sector has changed over the years. At the budget end of the market I think you will be hard pressed to find what you are looking for as that is aimed at th...
