Had taken the plastic bit out of the back and put my sleep mat in there....weighs 1600 without the back stiffner :)

Good Man Dave! I intend to do the biggest day first too. It's a long old loop, and if its as hot as today I might have to seriously re-think... I'm no good in heat like that :-( :-(

Thought so :-(:-( how about before the ridge actually starts, to the east around Saileg? I'm wanting to set off from Morvich and do a ghlas bheinn and beinn fhada before heading round to the ridge...

hard walking up there with one car as well!

Hi, can anyone tell me what the options are for a camp at height on the north glenshiel ridge please? Not asking for your secret spots, just an indicator of whether its possible. I know the south ridge is a different beastie with plenty flat spots, but never done the north ridge. Anyone? Cheers! Gin...

RE the shin splints, a friend of mine got them severe and got medical discharge from the army due to them. Turned out his calf muscles were causing the problems. They were so tight, they were not allowing the front of his legs to function properly. He had a course of heavy duty ( and painful!) massa...

Not a paramo fan, but i do like this jacket!
Was working in Whalley earlier this year and nipped in, its wall to wall paramo!There are other brands too of course. The owner was there and chewed the fat with me for ages, although I was just looking.

North Face Terra 6o...take the polycarb & aluminum back stiffner out and save about 600g. YOu can then stick your sleeping mat in that space :)
