Re: Muncaster Fell and Krankenhaus

Hi Weasel Master (and Alison),nice to meet you both, hope my intrusion on your privacy was not too much of a shock!!

Hope you enjoyed the weekend, its a fantastic festival in a glorious location. I like the description of the crowd, typical Sea Power fans, 20 years ago we were all pretty young!!

Re: That's me 50....Let's run the West Highland Way Race 202

Well done, a fantastic achievement. I was offered a place in both 20222 & 2023 but on both occasions had to pull out as a result of injuries incurred running The Fling back in 2022. I'm still hopeful I can achieve my ambition, but at 57 I feel time is running out!!

Canisp from Glencanisp

Biked in to Suilven last week from Glencanisp. Whilst ascending Suilven, I noticed the continuation of the Glencanisp path that diverts off and upwards towards the West ridge of Canisp. Looking at the OS Map, the path ends about 1K from the ridge, but the gradient of the ridge leading up to Canisp l...

Re: For the record -

Apple cores, banana skins, egg shells, tampons, sh*t...Its all rubbish, None if it should be left on the hills or anywhere else other than a bin. It's unsightly litter

Re: Glas Maol question

Having done both, I would go for option 1, the grassy ridge is lovely and the final drop is steep but nothing awkward. The alternative, through the skiing paraphernalia is uninteresting and the walk down the road is tedious and full of road kill

Devils point from Linn of Dee

Hi. Looking to do the Devils Point from Linn of Dee. Using bikes, are we better off cycling via Derry lodge or via White Bridge? And, how far can we get on bikes? Corrour Bothy?

Thanks in advance

Re: Return to Ben Mor Coigach and Fhidhleir

I echo the mutual appreciation for BMC. We spent four fantastic holidays at the cottage with the red roof at Culnacraig. Such happy memories when my son was little, exploring BMC, the Fiddler and the shoreline below the cottage

Re: Autumn Days and Ice Cream on Colonsay and Oronsay

Really enjoyed your words and photos. Spend many of my childhood years holidaying on Colonsay, Last time I was there was 35+ years ago, yet everything looks exactly as I remember it. It seemed that every year our holiday consisted of the same walks - Balnahard, Ardskenish, Pigs Paradise, Loch an Sgo...

Re: Dogs and Hills

We've got a Jack Russell / Westie cross. She's done loads of big hills. Her main problem has been sore feet, but usually caused by running on sand etc. On occasion I have popped her in the back pack, most notably half way up Canisp and, again, coming off Conical as the ridges to BMA had made her pad...
