Re: Proposed walking club Larbert

Sorry cant help with your question as I missed that myself, or I would have popped along. Thanks for the reply Ossian22. I'll send you a message if I hear any more. :) Thanks, and by the way I think we have already met, on Ben Vorlich a couple of years ago I was heading up and you were on the way b...

Proposed walking club Larbert

Anybody heard about a new hillwalking club based in Larbert? There was supposed to be a meeting last night but I found out about it too late to go. There was a notice in the Falkirk Herald yesterday but they don't have a contact name or number...neither does The Station Hotel where the meeting took ...

Re: Outdoor Blogs

Bloody hell Ken! That's some imagination you've got. I advise you put the parking brake full on with it when idling - it may just run away with you otherwise. ;) I'd never cut it in the blogosphere - the one-liner and emoticon motif wouldn't fill the space. ;) Well...unless I us...

Re: Outdoor Blogs

You misinterpret my comment Ken - my implication was 'fame at last' for kinley - given you'd reproduced his comment. Apologies if you took it as having a go (or jumping on a bandwagon  ). Not a problem Dundreich :D I did try to stress I was using the extreme scenario to make a point to show h...

Re: Outdoor Blogs

First of all I'd like to thank Anagach for recommending the blog - greatly appreciated. A big thank you as well to those of you who have dropped in or are regular readers. As fate would have it one of my fellow bloggers read the post and mentioned it on the blog - so I dropped in to see what it was ...

Re: Na Gruagaichean Failed.....Then Won!

Well done on persevering :D. I've done the hills either side but not this one but if I go back I fully intend to head along the main path east then take a wonderful wee stalkers path up Sgor Eilde Beag and from there to the summit - looks a lot easier than the north top  though your compromise ...

Re: The Return of the Weather Thieves

 I'm sure Maisie has lost weight? At best her weight has been kept "under control" this winter, Paul. She's going through a hungry phase just now so I reckon a lot more exercise is called for. Have followed many of your reports on blog by following link from splendid isolation. PS....

Re: The Return of the Weather Thieves

Thanks for the welcome yokehead :D . Sadly I don't think it's possible to pack enough reserve sandwiches as far as The Fatdog is concerned! :( I for one certainly couldn't carry the weight.

Many thanks for the comment gammy leg walker :D .

The Return of the Weather Thieves

It's been a long while since I've posted on walkhighlands...I'd almost forgotten how to do it. . Although The Fatdog and I have been walking and posting on the blog for the past wee while, it's just this year we're making a serious attempt to get back into the hills on a much more regular ba...

Re: Glen Dochart to Lochearnhead (2 Corbetts en route)

Have to admit to avoiding this route as the farm start held little appeal. I think it's a fairly notorious muck heap with some speculation that it was deliberately kept so. I enjoyed both trips to these 2 hills one from Balquidder and the other from Lochearnhead though I have to admit having a soft ...

"Cobbled" Together

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3498/3957756079_225d07320c.jpg Yet another blank page…and yet another cup of tea. Sometimes I think I would like the keyboard to start the story of its own accord. That way my brain wouldn’t hurt as much and I wouldn’t have to join up the dots of the day to see what t...

Re: Sgor Gaoith - In and Out of Focus

Benno your post had me puzzled - looked at it on my computer at work but looked blank  . Wasn't until I opened it up just now (at home) that I realised my employers defense systems had been blocking it (you tube). Coincidence - I put the same clip on my blog a few days ago! Thanks for the comm...
