Re: “The Munros” by Websters 2nd edition

Paul, I have just been gifted a 2nd edition of your and Helen's book and I love it already. This is what I really needed for my Munro bagging from the start. It will surely help me with planning further walks.

“The Munros” by Websters 2nd edition

Happy New Year fellow hill walkers!

I was wondering if anyone could help. I was wondering if the maps in Websters’ 2nd edition of “The Munros” have the same type of maps as in 1st edition?

Many thanks.

Re: Isle of Skye Munros - looking for a guide

I would recommend trying to improve your fitness in order to make these types of routes more manageable. I'd also suggest doing some (relatively) easy scrambles It depends on few factors - the last Munro I've done yesterday . i.e. An Socach (leisure walk compared to other Munros I did) - distance 1...

Re: Isle of Skye Munros - looking for a guide

Just remember that once booked and date/dates confirmed you are in the lap of gods with the weather, you could book say 4 days and the climb any 2 days out of 4, only downside is you will have to pay about £100 for each non climbing day so the guide is available for a good weather window. I would a...

Re: Isle of Skye Munros - looking for a guide

As Dav2930 says, these aren’t walks, but scrambles so based on what you have said I would recommend you use a guide. Partly for their expertise and knowledge to get you onto the summits, but also in case the weather turns, then their know of the best/safest way down would be invaluable. I have used...

Re: Isle of Skye Munros - looking for a guide

Hi Cranberry You say you'd prefer a 1:1 ratio rather than be in a group. The former would be a lot more expensive, especially for all the Cuillin Munros. My worry is I am too slow for many hill walkers. I'm therefore a solo walker. I've checked the prices and it looks like hiring the guide will cost...

Re: Isle of Skye Munros - looking for a guide

Also, it's probably best to rid yourself of the notion that the Cuillin Munros are walks . Even the easiest of them are scrambles , and the In Pinn is an exposed Moderate rock climb requiring ropework and an abseil. One cannot stress enough the fact that the Skye Cuillin are not like any other moun...

Isle of Skye Munros - looking for a guide

Hi fellow walkers, I am sending the enquiries to the guides, however I've thought I would post a copy of my enquiry here as well.. I plan to walk Skye Munros and from what I gather majority of them seem to be very hard and demanding and a hard scramble. Having safety in mind and being aware of my wa...

Beinn Mheadhoin and Beinn Bynack from Ski Centre

Hi,
I was wondering if walking Beinn Mheadhoin and Beinn Bynack from Ski Centre via Cairn Gorm is doable for a average-experienced walker? I would consider wildcamping if required.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks :)

Overnight parking near Beinn Achaladair

Dear fellow walkers, I plan to wild camp and walk Beinn Achaladair and Beinn a'Chreachain this year. As I don't have anyone to dropp me off near start point, I will drive and leaver my wee car overnight. I am wondering however, where I could park my car overnight without upseting land owners or comm...
