Re: 1970s tent

You have a piece of still-living history with a Bob Saunders, something to remember a pioneer by. Cherish it.

Re: Why do they keep making them bigger?

A little-known fact is Glasgow still has a zoo. Unfortunately due to budget constraints it only has one animal, a dog.

It's a Shih Tzu.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I can only hope the campers cleaned-up the next day.

Re: Right to roam v Private Road

A simple solution but who pays for the work? You? The homeowner? Or you want Auchineden Estate to pay for it, and provide the land, ultimately putting the costs on the other tenets of the estate? The road is not new. He bought a house next to a road, a road that is someone else's property . Reroutin...

Re: Right to roam v Private Road

Whilst everyone is, naturally enough, inherently sympathetic to tales of abuse (child endangerment, vandalism, etc.) the absurd and hostile gross mischaracterisations of Navvarr's posts means I'm having to take the stated tales of woe with a dose of salt. I've spoken to various homeowners on the Kil...

Re: Right to roam v Private Road

Posting pictures of our title so everyone knows where we live. The posted the picture of your title because you made mention of it and have claimed land that is not yours is yours. You made a strong claim and the evidence has been posted that you have lied through your teeth. Nobody here has set fi...

Indeed. They even use the same insult, "shame". New accounts favouring the same terminology is rarely a coincidence.

Re: Right to roam v Private Road

Not being an expert on Rights of Way and Rights to roam I contacted the Stirling Council Access Officer. The Access Officer has reviewed this and has informed me that a 'Right of responsible access' DOES APPLY. In short, we can walk right past your property and you have no right to stop us. This is...

Re: Right to roam v Private Road

Using it to go right up to someones window and gawp through it is not. I agree that would be completely unacceptable but I'm deeply sceptical that it has happened let alone regularly. We all see a lot of walkers in the hills passing farms and homes and do we really see that happening let alone on a...

Re: Right to roam v Private Road

We can go back & forth as many times as you want but this will be my last post on the matter. The facts are that we do own the land our properties & gardens are on. We live here, you don’t. Our privacy is being invaded & we have rights to privacy under law. The fact is you also chose to...

Re: Midges mid June Scotland this year

Smidge repellent stops you getting bitten (as much).

Head mesh & long clothing & gloves.

I found clouds of incense (the proper Indian stuff) kept them away when I was making dinner. Plus it smells great.

Re: Beautiful walk but Cant Camp in Ardtalnaig!

That said, there are many houses and one of the Scottish Access Law stipulations is about not camping in sight of houses. I think (??) you're thinking of section 6.1.b.4 comprises, in relation to a house or any of the places mentioned in paragraph (a)(ii) above, sufficient adjacent land to enable p...

Re: Garmin etrex 10

How do I find the OS grid ref today for a Waypoint that I entered on the hill yesterday? I can find the Waypoint by its name/number but it doesn't show the grid ref, and no button seems to lead me there. And commiserations to all those, like me, who find the instructions (if any) for, and the worki...
