Re: Singles Meet - Trying to Gauge Interest

Is this still going ahead or has the flame burnt out Hmmmmm, I suspect it probably has burnt out, tbh. :( Shame, really, as it was an innovative and attention-grabbing idea to start with. :) I think one of the main stumbling blocks is that you have numerous singles who are hugely disparate in age r...

Re: Visions of Schiehallion - Kinloch Rannoch Corbetts

Oh I love this, Schiehallion is one of my favourites and it's great to see it towering over! Lovely walk photos too, winter looks so pretty with the light and the snow.

Re: 2015 Plans?

I love reading about everyone's aims, it's inspiring.

I haven't got my plans off to a great start today... stayed in a warm bed rather than go out in a freezing wind to hillwalk. I will hang my head in shame (but next to the radiator)!

Re: An Teallach - Winter

Now there's a situation I don't want to be in! So it's nice to be able to read someone else's account. :)

The photos are beautiful, what a stunning landscape.

Re: 2015 Plans?

I have a decently long list of aims for this year but who knows if I'll achieve any. Depends on weather, work, holidays, life... I'd like to get to 20 Munros, go to the Western Isles and/or spend time up the west coast, do the CMD/Ben Nevis, finally do my local lovelies Mayar and Driesh, and a...

Re: Late December sunshine

Ah lovely winter photos! Especially love the half-moon shot, I find the moon quite fascinating. Haven't walked much up that way, so maybe I'll add it to the 2015 wish list (getting a wee bit long now...).

Re: How did 2014 go?

Sometimes wonder how you lot (particularly malky_c) manage to fit in so much when YOU ARE NOT YET RETIRED . Never really got cracking until my 50s. I wonder this too! I only have so many holidays to take and I do plan to use at least a week in the summer for an abroad holiday (no walking, just lazi...

Re: How did 2014 go?

Well by others' standards it's maybe not much but for me it was a big achievement: 6 Munros including 3 solo and also my first scramble! I saw puffins on Staffa too which was another wee ambition. In 2013 I was, for some reason, a bit anxious about getting out there alone but in 2014 I proved to mys...

Re: Beinn Chabhair - a snowy winter solitude solstice walk

Haven't been brave enough ever to do a solo winter walk, well done you (though clearly you're braver than me anyway  ). I did once hill walk in the snow with a friend and the absolute stillness was lovely. I am quite fond of the short days for other reasons but I too am looking forward to more...

Re: Tarmachan Ridge

That actually looks less scary to me than when I did the scramble without snow! Maybe I need to venture out in the winter up there, it looks stunning. Great pics!

Re: A slice of Trotternish - Hartaval and The Storr

Amazing! I wish my work let me have outings like this, definitely beats 'office in Perth' any day! The ridge is on my wishlist and this has further whetted my appetite - love the pics.
