Re: Cairnwell on a hot May Day

Hercy burd? You must be ex military.

I got a cracking view of a Herc belting down Glen Isla on Saturday 27th May - must be an exercise on. I was well above it heading for Glas Maol after spending over an hour on top of Monega Hill but my camera was firmly lodged in my backpack. Opportunity missed.

Monega disaster

Right, decided to do this walk today 27/05/2017 as it's close to home - 30 mile drive from Dundee - and it seemed a more interesting way to do Glas Maol and Creag Leacach than the usual route from Glen Shee, a place I've grown to dislike due to the extensive scarring on most of the hills around the ...

Ben Lawers - great view or so I'm told

Right, so the newbie thought he'd try Beinn Ghlas and Ben Lawers this week after his escapade last week on Mayar and Dreish. The drive up was good enough although there were several slow downs for deer and sheep on the way - the car park was very easy to find being signposted from the unnamed road a...

First Munros - but not the last

Right, my first ever report. I'm new to this walking thing at 54 years old although not exactly a beginner. A few years ago I was on a visit to Glen Doll. It was a nice enough day and I decided Dreish 'looked doable', I didn't follow any paths or the like and just went straight up, no problem, but t...
