Re: Walking companions required in the Cowal / Argyll areas.

I'm in Dunoon. Try to get out when I can, local or far away. Any type of hill for me.

If your on Facebook check out Cowal Summit Baggers or Argyll Mountaineering Club. AMC have a website as well.

There's also Cowal Fest in October. A great intro to the area.

Cheers.

Creag Tharsuinn from Garvie,Glendaruel,Cowal.

With a rare free day I decided to hit the hills. Had intended on driving over to Ben Lomond, but the weather at the time wasn't looking to promising so I decided to head to a local hill. The last on the list of the 5 Graham's local to me. I'd looked at this walk a while back having marked a route on...

Re: Argyll Advice

There's a Munro at the head of Loch Fyne, also a Double at head of Loch Awe, then there's also the two at Cruachan. :)

Website for campsites?

Anyone know a good website that lists all campsites?
Found a few but their lists of camp sites are pretty poor, with sites I know of not even listed.

Cheers.

Re: Ben More Argyll

I walked this hill back in October , it was my first walk from WH site. It's local to me,so a 10 minute drive had me at the start of walk. I really enjoyed it. The walk in through the estate, the track on the hill through the woods and the open hill to the summit. I'm sure there's an option to loop ...

Re: An Caisteal, Beinn a'Chroin and a dip in the Falloch

Not bad at all, its a sort of right leg above knee height then left foot up onto the slab/ledge. If you're not good with heights then don't look back! There are a few good reports of this walk on here and good pics of the srcamble, even one chap lifting his dogs up it. Have a root through them. :) ...
