Great effort and a big well done! :clap: A guy I used to work with done Mera Peak about the same time as you. He was in the other group with Jagged Globe that had to evacuate two people. :thumbdown: Fortunately he managed to summit as well :thumbup:

I work offshore so with a 2 week on and 3 week off rota there is no need to take a sickie! :thumbup: Also,if I did, I don't get paid for the first 7 days. :thumbdown: A back to work medical is required as well with flights to organise etc back to the rig.

Rab Vapourise trousers are the way to go. Approx £50 to £60 a pair and I can't fault them. :thumbup:

Yep,a car is the way to go. Fair play to you footix for trying but last year we booked a cottage at Clashmore for a week and managed to put 500 miles on the car just by going to Stac Pollaidh,Sandwood Bay,Ben Hope etc. As HighlandLass says it makes sense to get fuel at Inverness as it's very expensi...
