Ben Starav Trio

Parked up near Coileitir at 10pm. Back seats down in the car, sleeping mat & bag prepped for some shut-eye before a 5am start on Starav. The rising sun lighting up the cloud over Ben Starav https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/2_4dYHEus2DqcBMryq1rtE-Sa1e3VwwBdWZCp08a23Cn-G5JUosFJDVnNlzyy3DiFugn06LG...

Re: Earncraig Hill & Gana Hill

Quite a steep descent to Daer Hass and a straightforward ascent to Gana Hill. We picked up the track that traverses the hill, but as this was my final Donald, we veered off it towards the top as I didn't want to finish the job on a track! Congrats on completing the Donald's  Nice to have view...

Re: A Couple Of Corbetts from Glen Orchy

Nice day for it - walked these two from Glen Lochy but your route looks more interesting - cheers :) I followed the WH route from the North, which was mostly pathless. The only hint of path was between the two hills which made me think there is probably a more traditional route ascending from Loch ...

Re: Hart Fell Circular from Fruid

that looked a great day out - good idea to head in from the north to add on hills not normally included - cheers :) Thanks RH, it was a good day that was over too quickly! My main targets of the day were Erie, Garelet and Cape (having previously climbed Hart Fell in the traditional Blackhope circui...

Re: Hart Fell Circular from Fruid

Stunning walk and book marked for future reference  I would thoroughly recommend this route. The initial climb up Capilus Hill is a bit of a slog, but once you reach the fence leading to Erie its very straightforward. Navigation is easy too as you just keep following the fence/wall all the wa...

Re: A Couple Of Corbetts from Glen Orchy

Hi SecretSquirrel - great looking couple of hills these on a good day. What's the parking like for these two??? The parking isn't bad. I parked at the spot suggested in the WH description. You could probably get 3 or 4 well parked beside the forestry gate. Although, there was an old beaten up carav...

Re: Meall Lighiche and Fraochaidh via Sgorr a'Choise

Nice route, that looked a cracking day. The bike might have only saved you half an hour, but I would much rather cycle the A82 than walk along tarmac.

You've given me some routes to consider now :D

Re: Blue skies and blizzards - epic day

Fantastic stuff

I don't fancy the ledge on An Casteil covered in wet snow! I had similar weather when I was out on Saturday, constant showers rolling over bringing rain, sleet, hail and all interspersed with blue skies. A cracking day and you got some great pics.

Re: White Coomb from Carrifran

I had read reports of people finding this route difficult but you seem to have found it straightforward. Well done. Thanks. I can't imagine too many issues with the route, I would recommend it. The ascent of Dun Knowe is pretty steep and descending it in wet snow was pretty slippy but nothing too b...

Cheers.

Re: Textbook walk - for a change!

Great photos of a great area! I remember the bealach between the two feeling really remote and like a proper adventure. I can imagine the wintery surroundings would make it feel even more remote and secluded.
