Re: What else can one say - Mount Keen

Thanks for the company, Martin, not much to add other than what you've already reported. For me, it was a good warmup for the adventures that filled the rest of the week, which I'll post about in due course.

Lesson learned: Martin's fitter than I am!

Re: Bridge of Orchy (ish) - Tuesday 29th April

Was *just* reading about these two in the wee Munros book. Sadly, will be chained to the ol' work chair on Tues.

But enjoy! :)

Re: Unfinished business in Assynt

Glad to see your return trip and congratulations on the First 50   Easter Sunday I was on Am Faochagach, thought about you and the others who did that trip on a claggy day a month earlier, your reports helped us to find yet another route up and we were rewarded with stunning views. Will...

Re: Assynt

There is a fantastic pie shop in Lochinver should you be spending a day away from the hills and require sustenance. HA! I would like everyone to take note that it wasn't me mentioning the pie shop this time!  Nor have I yet met RockyRab, so I didn't put him up to it. For other non...

No hake, stolen or otherwise. But I have just realized that nearly all of my 10 WH posts manage to mention the pie shop (whoops, there's another one!).

Is that "1-foot, 2-foot, 3-hand, 4-hand, 5-cheek, 6-cheek" then? :)

Unfinished business in Assynt

This adventure, and the aftermath of it, was tame, compared to the recent and now-infamous hake heist; however, I can happily report that as of the Easter weekend, the Lochinver Larder (aka “The Pie Shop”) is now open for evening repast, as well as offering a fine selection of beverages from the Bla...

Re: Waymarking on rob Roy Way

Hey, mcjump -- I walked sections of the RRW ~6-7 years ago, and at that time, it definitely wasn't waymarked (I'd expected it to be, like the WHW). We went badly wrong in the forest (one of the forests?) between Drymen and Aberfoyle, and ended up walking miles further than planned. They may have add...

Am Faochagach (Was Foggy-ach)

My first walk report (be gentle with me). No fancy stuff, like maps or GPS data. With a bit of luck, maybe a photo one or two (brief pause while I go off to read the guidelines about how to include them). Right, off we go. The WH Inchnadamph meet was imminent, and I’d approached the weekend with mor...

Re: WH 2014 SPRING MEET! **ULLAPOOL** 28/29 March 2014

Just adding my thanks to the chorus -- well done, John and HappySnapper (I'm gonna need to change my handle as well, once I think of something a bit more manageable :D) -- great location, great venue. My first meet as well, and lovely to meet so many people, and put faces to names and user names. As...

Re: WH 2014 SPRING MEET! **ULLAPOOL** 28/29 March 2014

I can vouch for the pie shop....YUM. However, last year when I was up there for the Easter break, that was the first weekend they were open in the evening, until then I think they'd been closing around 4pm or so.
