Re: Probably a request you've never had before, Walkhighland

How about Tinto, not far from Glasgow, starts straight from car park and clear path to the top. Must be about 4 miles but so not sure if that's a bit much.

Re: Beinn Mhanach dry feet?

Thanks all, will have a look at Glen Lyon, failing that I will get some practise in for the long jump as suggested. 8)

If the forecast stays the same might leave it and go further afield

Beinn Mhanach dry feet?

Hi,

Has anyone been recently, just wondering if my feet have any chance of staying dry with recent good weather, think you need to cross the river 6 times on the round trip.

Re: Grey Corries

Many thanks for all the suggestions, think I will go for the 4 on a single day, and borrow a car with a bit more clearance :D

Re: Grey Corries

A bit of a mixed response, probably give it a go really slowly. Is there any half decent places to pitch a tent near where you park the car as I don't see the point in driving up it twice. I'd be as well camping and doing the 4 over 2 days.

Grey Corries

Hi All,

Just how rough a track is the access in from Corriechoille?

The description says "very rough"

Suppose what I'm asking is will my wee Focus be destroyed in the attempt?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Wild camping the WHW - What food to take?

Did WHW twice now and I've never took more than water and a bar of chocolate or packet of nuts in my bag and trust me I've never went hungry. Suppose it depends how self sufficient you want to be and the stages your planning but apart from last day between kinlochleven and FW we had somewhere to eat...

Re: The Inevitable Plans for 2016 Thread

1. Get to at least half way with Munros. 2. Stop ignoring hills closer to Glasgow because they are not Munros. 3. Do some more camping to save the 3hr drives each way. 4. Do a wild camp 5. Break my Skye virginity. Suppose all the above makes the assumption that it will stop raining at some point......

Re: National 3 peak challenge

You could consider the way I did these 3 hills with a group of friends. Started at Ben Nevis about 0900, I made it to the top in heavy snow and limited visibility, back down to pub, few beers, jumped into mini bus. Arrived in Carlise and had a great night out. Set off after a full English breakfast,...

Re: Unique Starting Points

Having just sat in a traffic jam on the A82 that added 1hr 20mins tonight to journey home from Fort William, I feel you pain!

Saying that I'm not nuts  so car it is unless I can do a overnight to reduce driving and do a double day.

Only joking about you being nuts.

Re: South glen shiel ridge

Hi, Did option 1 last year, locked bike up on bridge, and then mostly downhill to lay-by. I say mostly as you do have a couple of climbs early in cycle. I seem to recall my gps picking up impressive speeds recorded due to downhills I had done the brothers the day before so was feeling it on legs, if...
