Re: Why do it?

Agreed and at my advanced age I now believe there is a view even at ground level....peer into the undergrowth; dibble in the streams, watch the sunlight through the trees ie I don't have to be at 1000m anymore to enjoy the view!

Re: Trump Turnberry?!

"...to play golf is to spoil an otherwise enjoyable walk.” ps not Mark Twain apparently...so my original point that Trump (despite being half Hebridean?) is a 4 star **** is now made worse by Google putting a golf ad on a walking website.

Trump Turnberry?!

As I was faffing through the Southern Uplands 'walks' pages on WalkHighlands I was a little surprised to see on the Hawick routes page an ad for Trump Turnberry - considering what a **** he is should there not be some form of ethical standards on this site?

Re: Battery storage

still working on how to email a smell (could do the wine merchants thing and talk about a biscuit finish) but really I hoped re-chargeable batteries would last a bit longer than until they smell dodgy

Battery storage

I have a lot of rechargeable batteries (I know they are actually called cells....) in a sealed bag in my landy for eg Garmin/headtorch etc but I do notice a strong chemical gaseous smell when I open the bag....is that a dodgy explosion/fire waiting to happen?
