Re: uig bay tides

I'm with Ben on this - the sea has a bad habit of producing waves much bigger than advertised

Re: Met Office Lake District Ground Conditions Report.

I agree 100% - bum sliding or equally sliding down on a bivvy bag is exciting until eg a rock stops you - btw my understanding of such forecasts is that they are typically given to a limited altitude and take little account of different wind conditions on leeward/windward

Re: Bike and Motorhome

good question this one - my only concern would be the security of any vehicle I leave overnight (eg my Landrover)(fit a Tracker)

Re: solo hillwalking

I guess I posted this because out in the hills I often come across groups having a blether about humdrum stuff eg tax returns and work whereas I go up there for a break from all of that....

Re: Can I 'claim it' dilemma?!

Claim it (although reaching a peak point is no indicator of anything other than reaching the peak) and sounds like you had a great trip and that's what matters.

PS Love the white out bit but may I suggest you and your buddies invest a £1 and get High Vis jackets?

Re: Walks for bad knees

Or save yourself a world of bother and have your legs amputated and replaced with a couple of whale-ivory peg-legs bound in brass.

I'm not sure if hill walking with a bra on each leg would work....
