Don't imagine over much....an exposed path on a mountain is no different than walking on a pavement - if need be then concentrate on your foot placings and look to whatever side is not a sheer drop if that helps - but it is really unlikely that you are going to fall so do not think about that event ...

I'm really peed off now - I belong to an era of eg SYHA where you did a bit job in the morning then went on your way - this greedy consumerism is appalling... how much now for a bunk? a single room in a BandB? so that's me at the Gatliff's and in between that will be genuine wild camping

I suggest all the west coast of the Western Isles - a couple of excellent Gatliff hostels, not too many camp sites and a reasonable bus service should (!!!) it rain.....plan your walks to take in the Co-ops when they are open as not too many shops either.

ps that's a big itinerary you have by the way
