Re: Dumgoyne and a wee bit further

Hello GillC Whenever I go up Dumgoyne, I look for a path that goes back down towards Killearn and try to pick up the bus from there. I wonder if you might have taken part of that path going to Clacharty Knowes. It makes for a good rounbd trip, and the Black Bull or whatever in Killearn is a nicer op...

Re: Tinto Hill

I was in Glasgow today but I pointed out Tinto Hill to my friend. I should have waved to you instead.   It is such a disctinctive shape I really like seeing it from glasgow and the north (Lennoxtown Woods, Meikle Bin - once even clocked it walking east along Clevedon Road in Glasgow)

Re: What wee birds are these?

my money is on a linnet ? what do you reckon? looks like a "v" in the tail and I must admit I thought the head had stripes though it could be a redhead.

Re: berghaus kibo gtx

The Blacks offer on the Kibos does look good. I did notice it yesterday when I was googling around for something to buy at Blacks as I have about £100 in vouchers (why my old workmates couldn't have got me something decent like Tisos or Cotswolds I dunno). I just wonder though... Barring some unexpe...

Re: What is your nearest summit miss?

Closest is about 5-10 from the real summit of the Cobbler, usually getting onto the ledge and decided to go no further. This has happened 7-8 times, but it doesn't really worry me, I still feel I've done the Cobbler without the last bit. I second that Kevin 29035. 5 years ago I got onto the ledge, ...

Re: Ben Bowie

Thanks for the report. I have had my eye on Ben bowie for several years - though intending to start from the Cardross side. I always wanted to link it with a walk that goes up Ben Bowie and then comes down the Upper Stoneymollen road but have never been able to find an adequate path linking the two ...

Found Dog -on Ben Venue - Border Collie

At the risk of Walkhighlands getting inundated from all dog owners when their pet goes missing can I report a Dog found high up on Ben Venue and thus likely only to belong to somebody out walking in the vicinity in recent days. I was walking with 2 friends up there today Saturday and at about the 55...
