Re: Marsco in the dark

I assume you meant crampons but you’ll not need ‘ice spikes’.

Re: Three uncommon hill errors

Correct, you read out the code etched on the base of it and that tells them if it’s a warranty job. Mine got bubbles and they arranged for me to pick up a new one from Tito.

Re: Bike & Hike

I only managed Ben Dearg when I was last up that way and had earmarked taking a bike as far as the edge of the forrest the next time when completing the rest. Is this as far as you took the bike? There were bike tracks higher up the track the other day but I wouldn't guarantee a high quality experi...

Re: Deer stalking.

HalfManHalfTitanium, it is simple, North Chesthill do not welcome walkers. The day I popped up to do the four Munros from Invervar there was a notice at the usual access point with details of a lengthy detour. A local happened to be walking along the road as I stood staring at the notice, they expl...

Re: Stob a' Choire Odhair and Stob Ghabhar - descent

You can also descend down the south ridge of Sron a'Ghearrain and pick up the path to Clashgour.

Re: Ben Chonzie Mountain Bike Advice

Assuming you mean the glen lednock approach then it’s a somewhat stony Land Rover track. Suspect rideable but I’ve only been on it in winter.
Best of luck.

Re: Looking for mountain bikable munros suggestions.

Almost forgot, a daft day out -
These need a short carry between them, rest is on landrover tracks or B roads -

Re: Looking for mountain bikable munros suggestions.

Munros I've done to the summit or thereabouts - https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/perthshire/carn-a-chlamain.shtml (Pretty steep and a bit rubbly but perfectly rideable, the path is fairly recent) Not munros but very good, both doable in a day with a drive - https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/grahams/pre...

Re: Looking for mountain bikable munros suggestions.

Leathad a Taobhain looks doable although it is three meters shy of a munro. Do it during a very low tide and claim you are Munro height above the current local sea level. It is, makes for a nice big day out with the other two corbetts although you wont get to the summits of them on bikes due to ter...

Re: Conditions to expect on Ben Macdhui in May

As others said should be fine. There will almost certainly be a large furrow ploughed through any snow patch.

Save for a good day, brilliant views.

Re: Beinn Dhorain in lonely Glen Loth

Great views from that hill and an exciting drive! Especially where you first come off the a9.

We did the quick out and back from the high point as a leg stretcher recently.
