Re: Carn a'Mhaim to corrour bothy

Best way is to descend the Allt Clach nan Taillear, theres a path if you keep an eye out for it, from memory the south bank and it curves southwards near the bottom.

Re: Tranter Round - Route for Mamores to Grey Corries

Not actually done the link up but when doing the Grey Corries from Glen nevis your main challenge will be avoiding the bog around Tom an Eite.. We did a rising traverse aiming for the Meall a'Bhuirich/Stob Ban col to actually gain the ridge.

Re: Down in the Mounth

The other complaint was a first, a guy with an electric bike on top of Carn an Tuirc. It's stupid and it's vandalism. If it was a trail bike, there would be general condemnation but because it's silent and the rider makes a contribution it's somehow acceptable. Anyway this sort of encroachment was ...

Re: Five sisters

I’ve descended that way a few times. Search the threads though for other alternatives as it’s cropped up recently.

Re: Ben Macdui / Cairn Gorm advice

Approach from the ciste car park is decent as well. There’s a decent path for a lot of the way up Creaghan Dubh. You will need to do a bit of lateral thinking or some road walking to return to the start after macdui.

Re: Cairngorm Lodge to Sugar Bowl.

Isn't the land slip between the sugar bowl and the ski centre? I'm sure I ignored it last time.

Re: Cairngorm Lodge to Sugar Bowl.

There’s a path which may or may not be marked on the map which goes up from loch morlich to the ski centre via the sugar bowl. Used it a few times

Re: The Mullardoch 12 in a day

Good report, have done various combinations but never the full loop (The Cuilin Ridge is still *the* day out in the uk though). For those interested but concerned about water theres a reliable spring just to the east of the 832m spot height south of Beinn Fhionnlaidh. The path under Carn Eighe is al...

Re: Carn a'Chlamain - Car Park

Was up there last week. Would recommend carrying on to just past Forest Lodge and taking the stalker's path up to create a nice circuit of the hill. The path zigzags nicely so never gets steep and the traverse across the top plateau is more pleasant than the standard ridge route. . You've just desc...
