An AWE..inspiring day out...

With a mid week rest day due and the weather forecast looking good I set off for the hills around Loch Awe. I arrived in the layby just before 8am. Re: Which jacket for winter hiking and mountain walking?

Hi, I hope my experience helps you, I bought the Keela Munro jacket off of Amazon as my winter jacket, while great in poor weather , it's heavy and doesn't pack down easily into my 38 Ltd rucksack when all the other winter kit is included. So I started looking for something lighter. BLACKS are selli...

Breaking Trail to Beinn Chabhair

I couldn't make my mind up where to walk this time as the chances of a clear summit were only 50/50 on Thursday so I decided to pick a Munro that was closer to home and Beinn Chabhair looked ok. I arrived at the rear car park at the Drovers Inn about 8:45am and was off by 9am. After crossing the fie...

Winter sun on Ben More

Ever since I'd seen WillkieMurray's walking report on WH I'd wanted to do Ben More as a winter walk and with the weather looking ok for the day I headed off. The drive there wasn't looking promising, as there was a lot of fog in the Glasgow area and around Loch Lomond but it did say it would be clea...
