Also, did anyone see the weird frost flower on Winterwatch the other night?

Re: Weird Ice....

I've seen a few around before, but not in such abundance. The last pic is beautiful too!

Re: Chargeable Hand Warmers

The USB rechargeable ones get some poor reviews.... lack of heat, take forever to charge, some only work for 3 charges then give up.

Disposable hand warmers FTW!

'To Do' list

Hi,

Is there anyway we could have an 'add to wishlist/walklist' button at the bottom of the walks description to save bookmarking and then promptly forgetting about walks we would like to do in the future?

Much appreciated as always!

Re: The winds of Morven

Great report and piccies again!

With regards to having lunch up there, it seems impossible... no matter what season, we always seem to get frostbitten or blown away!

Nice wee local hill though, always attracts a fair few folk.

Re: Mixed weather on the Brecon Beacons

Great report and pics... These are wonderful hills and underrated by some. I think the unknown hill in your 2nd pic is Fan Y Big. Fan Frynych and Fan Fawr are another 2 great hills to check out. Also the bunkhouse in Talybont is great, nextdoor to a pub too and a lovely canal walk. We won a meat raf...

Re: Forestry Commission Car Parking charges

Question: how do the charges work if you park up and go off for a few days with a tent? Are you going to come back to a ticket? I asked the FC about just this subject. They said that when checking tickets in windscreens they would use their discretion and common sense on noticing a vehicle parked f...

Hiya...

Are the G10's still for sale and have you got the anti-balling plates?

Cheers.

Re: Aviemore trip in April

Hi Shane.... Conditions in April are likely to be... still a fair bit of snow fields around, high possibility of icing/hoar..... I was up there last June and it could have been mid/end winter.... lots of deep snowfields on the plateaux and plenty of clag. Still very chilly too! As for doing it on yo...

Hiya,

I'm based in Inverurie as well...

I have "most" weekends off and would be up for joining other folks for a stroll.

Gimme a shout when you are free

Re: Chargeable Hand Warmers

I use the one shot things... work really well when held inside mitts/thick gloves. I have guff circulation so these things are heaven!

Found the same problems as everyone else with the reusable type and the reboiling fiasco.
