Re: hiking food

Has anyone ever removed the contents of Pot Noodle container and repackaged them in a resealable plastic bag for ease of carrying.. Pot Noodles are handy but bulky. I wonder if they would stay fresh repackaged. The fact that they are dried makes me think they would but I do not know

Magnetic Variance

Can someone tell me why I should get a different calculation for the Magnetc angle from different web sites. One gives the difference at 1' 3" west. While the other gives a difference of 4' 25" west.
Both for Lat 55.563 N and 6.25W

Re: Does anyone use the Garmin eTrex (basic yellow)?

I use this device - however have tried many different software packages and I cannot my laptop to recognise it using the usb to serial converter. It will run ok on my desktop using the converter. I find the unit really accurate and suits me - however I still carry map/compass

Re: Online shopping - delivery charge chancers

Its very annoying when buying stuff off a well known auction site and postage is quoted at a rate for the UK. However when they discover that I live on a scottish island the postage can double. most times it doesnt cost any more to send to the islands than it does to the Uk mainland - its a rip off ...

Re: Pot gripper

what about a hair bobble as used by girls to tie their hair back, put it a couple of times round the handle. you can get a lifetimes supply from a chemist shop for a couple of quid Good thinking!- I might get some strange looks asking fo a hair bobble with my hair cut - but I could always use a rub...

Pot gripper

we have all seen the universal pot gripper . Is it possible to buy one that has some form of clip that will keep it closed when grip is released. I sometimes eat out of the pot and I am always frightened that with cold etc I will slacken my grip and drop the pot

Re: Insect bites - a warning

Maybe a Scottish bank could be persuaded to put the groves in the sides of their bank cards?

A bank putting a groove in a card is like them destroying themselves. They are the Blood suckers :D :D :D

Re: Post your best photo

Wow! some really beautiful photos. The site administrator could choose 12 and have a calendar made for 2012 for sale to forum members - profits to charity :D :D
