Seaton to Sidmouth, South-West Coast Path

Quieter and more undulating than the coast to the west, another really good walk - Beer and the Hooken Undercliff particular highlights. seaton.gpx DSCN2231.JPG DSCN2235.JPG DSCN2236.JPG DSCN2239.JPG DSCN2240.JPG DSCN2246.JPG DSCN2247.JPG DSCN2249.JPG DSCN2252.JPG DSCN2253.JPG DSCN2254.JPG DSCN2256....

Exmouth to Sidmouth, South-West Coast Path

Busy summer Saturday afternoon in south Devon. A good easyish stretch of coast path with fine varied beaches. exmouth.gpx DSCN2171.JPG DSCN2172.JPG DSCN2176.JPG DSCN2177.JPG DSCN2180.JPG DSCN2181.JPG DSCN2184.JPG DSCN2187.JPG DSCN2188.JPG DSCN2189.JPG DSCN2192.JPG DSCN2197.JPG DSCN2199.JPG DSCN2201....

Re: The High Carneddau

Hi Polkadot, this seems a long time ago! Agree with HalfMan, the scrambling wouldn't be harder than anything on Striding Edge, there's much less, and there's definitely nowhere near the exposure. In terms of 'grading' it hard though, do bear in mind that it's a longer walk and with quite a lot of as...

Caer Caradoc & Hope Bowdler Hill

Really good route along parallel Shropshire ridges. One horribly steep & loose descent that looked avoidable next time. cardington.gpx DSCN2097.JPG DSCN2100.JPG DSCN2102.JPG DSCN2108.JPG DSCN2115.JPG DSCN2118.JPG DSCN2122.JPG DSCN2123.JPG DSCN2126.JPG DSCN2130.JPG DSCN2132.JPG DSCN2133.JPG DSCN2...

High Pike & Faulds Brow

Extremely hot and hazy day in the far north of the Lake District, based around Caldbeck, a lovely village. Farmland and easy grassy slopes to and from the good summit of High Pike, a few mining scars, and then Wainwright's minor Outlying walk to Faulds Brow - a slight but roughish moorland rise. hig...

Little Haven to Newgale

Final misty morning in Pembrokeshire. A decent stretch of beach-cut coast, surprisingly quite stiff walking. newgale.gpx DSCN1961.JPG DSCN1973.JPG DSCN1984.JPG DSCN1990.JPG DSCN1995.JPG DSCN1998.JPG DSCN2002.JPG DSCN2003.JPG DSCN2008.JPG DSCN2009.JPG DSCN2011.JPG DSCN2017.JPG DSCN2018.JPG DSCN2019.J...

Dale to South Hook Point

Plan A scuppered by a ropey forecast, so a day of filling in a gap in the Pembs Coast Path with short there-and-backs (between the tidal crossings) on the north side of Milford Haven as the rain came in. Reasonable low-cliff scenery and easy gradients, but not the best of the region. monk_haven.gpx ...

Fishguard & Newport Bays

On a third visit to Fishguard, overdue traverse of the immediate coastline a terrific stretch of jagged cliffs around pretty coves and beaches. Sweltering day but enough refreshment stops en route. newport.gpx DSCN1676.JPG DSCN1679.JPG DSCN1702.JPG DSCN1714.JPG DSCN1716.JPG DSCN1723.JPG DSCN1727.JPG...

Ingleton Falls & Kingsdale

Classic Dales walk, the falls at their best after a week of rain. Extended into the valley above - the promenade above the west side nice limestone walking and full of features, the eastern return sadly rough and fairly unpleasant walking. ingleton.gpx DSCN1381.JPG DSCN1395.JPG DSCN1405.JPG DSCN1406...

Shining Tor

Enjoyable short moorland route. Views all the way to the Beacons from the summit and very good walking up Goyt's Clough even on tarmac. (Camera missing again).

Re: Windy Gyle & Cushat Law

Cheers Broggy. You're right that High Cup (probably with Knock Fell) is the best Hewitt walk I've got left in the N Penns, but (as those remaining 20 ticks show...) I'm not really for saving the good ones up! The last will almost certainly be Little Fell - I've very little enthusiasm for the 'guided...
