Ben Tirran

When booking diary dates with my friends for hillwalking, there’s always the same thoughts at the back of my mind… “Please let it be a nice day!!” “Please let me have a decent view at the top!!” “Just one day of nice weather…booked in advance!” The MWIS report the night before was very promising, ni...

Re: Best view amongst the Munros

I'll never forget this view of Stuc a'Chroin from April 2009. As we were descending from Ben Vorlich, I can remember just repeating to myself "wow......wow.....wow.....wow.....wow". It was just huge in comparison to us. A great day out and one that sticks in my memory :) stucachroin.JPG

Panmure Testimonial Access

Does anyone know if the Panmure Testimonial at Monikie is easily accessible or not? Looking to do a wee walk and take some pictures of it, but its on private land and the locals can be a bit funny

Re: Lundie Craig Walk

Great to see the young uns enjoying the outdoors especially on a day like you had :D I bet they learned a lot as well. Some great views over Perthshire, Dundee and Angus from the summit, including Kinpurnie Hill at Newtyle. Pity you didn't go to the Tower a wee bit further on see my report, I think...

Lundie Craig Walk

I’ve been meaning to do the Lundie Craigs circuit in the Sidlaws for a while….just been waiting for the weather to be decent and when I had free time! I had a day off work Tuesday 1st July with Fraser, my 6 year old son who is on his first summer holiday off school. We had the afternoon free and it ...

Driesh, Glen Doll with Scouts

Route of Driesh from Scott Lodge building with the Scouts

low clouds, drizzly rain, some wind at top. but visibility was not too bad. Overall weather was lucky, could've been worse!

A long & wet weekend in Glen Doll

Recently took part in a Scouts T2 Summer assessment weekend at Glen Doll, involving 2 days of navigating with scenarios and a spot of wild camping overnight. It was extremely tough going and tiring with the brutal weather and constant peat hags, but completely worth it in the long run. Day One Route...
