I've done the route together with Ben Bheoil. http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=totmfddpgaowvcva I did it as a run as at 28 miles it would make for very long day as a walk. You could take a bike as far a Loch Ericht as there is a good track all the way. This would cut the mileage down considerabl...

Re: Cooking Food when wild camping

Ive used 'boil in the bag' bags that I got from Lakeland. So you can effectively prepare some tasty grub at home, put into these bags and then boil to reheat when required. They work well I reckon and it means you can get home cooked food with the conveneince of it being boiled (and eaten) from a bag.

Re: 3-4 season boots in summer?

Get yourself a pair of decent trail/ fell running trainers! Whizz round the hills as leighweight as you can, bag more and get fitter! Inov8 do superb trainers for this and also lightweight boots. What happens when you go over on your ankle though? :-) Experience will limit this from happening. Neve...

Re: Kahtoola KTS

Thinking of getting these too. Wear trail trainers a lot so seem ideal! Boy at ma work has them and rates them. He's even managed some cross plateau running in them!

Hi Eskimo I'm going up to do these Drumocher 4 at the weekend with my 13 year old son. Any advice on the conditions up there would be useful. Re: Round of Nine

Sorry to dig up such an old thread however I was wondering if anyone has a good gpx file of this route? I could make one myself (maybe) but one that includes a good route through the bog to Ben Ever for example would be really great!
