Re: Dog Water Bottle

You might not want to bring their home bowl, but have you considered a a collapsible silicone bowl that weighs next to nowt?

It's why I use, means you don't have to carry two sets of water.

Re: Walking with a puppy.

crucially, a dogs joints aren't fully developed until around 18 months old. Doing too much too soon can lead to joint issues further down the line so best to take things slowly and let them finish growing before tackling longer distances and more complicated walking like boulder hopping and scrambl...

Re: Mat/Sleeping Bag Combo

For three season nights any quality Chinese inflatable will do, e.g. Trekology. If you want to spend slightly more for an insulated mat, handy at the edges of the 3 seasons, then Klymit have an insulated one for under £75 https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Klymit-Insulated-Static-Sleeping-Orange/dp/B07YP8XY...

The examples I gave are examples others have made, for example music critic Fiona Shepherd (Bon Jovi) and music critic Kevin Maidment (Pink Floyd).

As I say, I'm only reporting the news not making it.

Re: Music while you walk

Well, if you are determined to put simplistic labels on things... You asked for an explanation. All I did was provide it - I cannot claim creation of it and should not be credited with it. If you dislike the term fair enough, go to a Pomp Rock Facebook page (they exist) and tell them all about it, ...

Re: Music while you walk

Ok, I'll bite... What is "pomp-rock"? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomp_rock Pomp rock emerged from progressive rock, it's less intricate and more suited to stadiums. Pink Floyd (Dark Side onwards), Queen, Dire Straits, Collins-fronted Genesis, Bon Jovi, Nickelback, INXS, Fleetwood Mac, ...

Re: Music while you walk

I dislike music on the walk and even at the campsite to focus on the natural. It's rare for me to hear silence on the hills though, usually there is some amount of wind, but I like that. That said there's a small set of wind chimes half way up the 4x4 trail of the Kilpatrick Braes and I've always li...

MR teams have expressed frustration with this over the years, because they result in callouts that are completely avoidable. This sounds like a failure of education. Just a week ago we had a n...

Re: Mountain Rescue

I'm lost on the Cobbler. If you haven't been up there before and mist rolls in, there's no reason The Cobbler cannot be terrifying. It has killed experienced and competent in-group mountaineers: some rain, a foot slip, and that's it 150 feet down and dead. And that was in daylight on a Saturday. If...

Re: Local overnighters with the other half

Me & lovely girl love to go camping. I do all the hard work in setting up camp and she swims in the lochs, runs after sticks, rolls around in the mud, and ends up licking her bum & genitals shortly before bed.

Other times I take the dog. 8)

Re: chemicals in tents

The chemicals leech out, into dust, and you ingest that dust.

It might not be much of an issue for your tent but it's a big issue inside your house unless your house is dust-free.
