Re: Fannich duo from the south - last blast of 2013

It's not too bad if you exit from the upper gate at the end of the forestry and make a rising traverse over Drochaid a' Ghiuhais Li, but only worthwhile if you are going to include Sgurr Mor and Beinn Liath Mhor in the round.[/quote] Yes it is! It's a miserable long heather bashing slog over feature...

Re: Crampons – advice please

Sounds like your trews might be a bit loose fitting, as the others above have noted get some tough gaiters at least if you do hole them they are cheaper to replace. On a more serious note it is potentially dangerous to snag your crampons, the result could be an uncontrolled descent on steeper ground.

Re: Scotland's most perfect mountain 2013

My joint favourite of 2013 Beinn Alligin - great warm, sunny day for the two munros and over the horns to complete one of the best traverses in the north west highlands.

It looks like Fionn Bheinn from a dim memory of a rain sodden trip I did not enjoy :(

Very wise. It could have been the rasher choice

Re: Where's the Picture................Wales 2013

Correct! I should have read your walk report before rathet than after I posted

I had a pic of Great Creggiau from the same trip, but it looked like any other bit of moorland and I thought it just too obscure and Whimble or Black Mixen were too obvious. Over to you.

Re: Where's the Picture................Wales 2013

Remember it well as the first hill in one long hot Spring day bagging all the Carneddau. The summit ridge belies its steepness lower down.

Now a little challenge to the dedicated baggers. Which hill is this?
