Re: birds along the union canal

Hi Walk Aboot, The one I think is the Linnet is the one at the top disecting the 4th black line from the right. Its wings appear to be more chestnut coloured than the rest and head appears grey and linnets and twite often flock together. Its not the ideal angle so I may be wrong but thats my best gu...

Re: Pigeon Fanciers

There seems to be a lot in the east end of Glesga with hunners of 4 legged rats around the bottom as well as the flying ones inside and a few junkie ones near by. Im quite surprised the are left relatively alone all these years, the Doos must be well connected!

Brown Carrick

Great Day for a walk. Parked at Heads Of Ayr farm park and Set off with Matt and my faithful Dug Judy along the road up to the radio mast then round long the field and over the dykes to the summit. Great views to be had right from the Antrim coast to Ben Lomond! Came back down through the woods to t...

Cairn Table

Good walk with good visiblity and good views at top. Chose to walk along Garpel Water route for ascent and took the direct route on the descent back to the car park. Not much about in the way of wildlife, only heard a few grouse. Matt S came along to moan most of the way :D

Green Lowther

Very easy walk. Good visibility up to about 1800' then patchy. Weather was dry except for one heavy shower near Wanlockhead on the way down. Plenty of grouse as well as wheatears, meadow pipits, ravens and a couple of buzzards. Shannon and John B kept me in good company :D The Wanlockhead inn is a n...
