Re: Clag and Stags on the Tarmachan Ridge

Great report Stevie, clag or no. Love the shot of Maggie licking her lips on that minor top, as for the short legs, I have the same problem when my Mrs comes with me  Thanks Chris! I could say the same for when Becca joins me on the hills...but I'd end up regretting it! Very enjoyable re...

Clag and Stags on the Tarmachan Ridge

Apart from one particularly soggy day in the Southern Uplands near Moffat, I consider myself very fortunate in my hill walking career to date, having enjoyed some of the finest of the Eastern highlands atop Lochnagar, Mount Keen, Mayar and Beinn A’Ghlo, all in stunning sunshine. It is only with thos...

Re: A Fine Horseshoe on the Isle of Harris - Sgaoth Aird & C

Always admire this hill in the passing on route to south harris, look forward to doing it some day, this will come in handy, thank you. :D Absolutely - when driving down from the north I always liked the way the sharp nose of Sgaoth Iosal sticks out over the road, but standing on the top of it and ...

Tell me about it!

the latest development is pre-emptive retail recompensing .. i.e. "OK I'll come walking with you... 2 munros = 1 dress "...

Looks like i'll be doing plenty of solo walks then!

Re: 2 nights in an emergency shelter and failed plans

Great report ML, even if everything didn't go to plan it was still a good read! Just a huge pity that you didn't make to stunning Lochnagar! Maybe better saving it for when you can see anyway!

And Glen Doll at this time of year has to be one of my absolute favourite places. :D

Re: A Fine Horseshoe on the Isle of Harris - Sgaoth Aird & C

Beautiful looking area. Must get up there. Love the shot of the Crags of Beinn Na Teanga  Maggie looking cuter than a button as usual! Ha! I can't help but feel like the Harris mountains are all part of some sort of grand illusion - they're all really quite wee in comparison to our mainlan...

Re: A Fine Horseshoe on the Isle of Harris - Sgaoth Aird & C

That is a great report and I love the pictures!!! Really good information about taking the ferry from Skye...I agree about the west coast being a much nicer drive!! I usually take that road as well...even though so far I did not manage to visit the islands of Harrris and Lewis :( But that time will...

Re: A Fine Horseshoe on the Isle of Harris - Sgaoth Aird & C

Stevie, some wonderful photographs, of a beautiful Island. I was there last year on a cycling holiday and it was unforgettable, must go back there soon and climb some hills. Thank's for sharing. :D Cheers! I can't recommend them enough - I've only been out in them twice - both times I've been bless...
