Chris

Great to see you are back, the photos are of a high class as always.

Bowfell Esk Pike Circuit

Day 3 of our trip to the lake district was looking promising, the weather forecast was set to improve as the day progressed, giving us an excellent opportunity to turn our attention to a little more substantial walk. We had just had 2 days in the Western Fells, which were tailored to suit the foreca...

Re: Melbreak and her neighbour

A good day out, LH. Did you go up Mellbreak's north face? It is a straight forward path, but steep and rough. Did you visit both the north and south tops of Mellbreak? The ridge descending from Hen Comb to Loweswater gives a pleasant walk, although I've only ever done that uphill. Hi Simon....Yes w...

Melbreak and her neighbour

I had been looking forward to July for quite some time and the 3 night trip with a few mates over to the Lake District, basing ourselves at Keswick. My friends are not as keen as I on climbing the Wainwrights, however they do enjoy it as long as there is a little of the Amber Nectar after the trip. ...

Re: Ennerdale Circuit: Crag Fell, Haycock & Great Borne

This was a route with plenty of good walking and some lovely scenery, but (much as there are far more daunting Ennerdale loops than this that others take in their stride) it might be quite a while before I take on as much again… Great stuff sir  It took me two days and I smashed my camera :(

Great Bourne to Haystacks

I have been considering a wild camp in Ennerdale for quite some time with a view of circumnavigating the lake over the surounding mountains. The idea will allow me to knock of some of those difficult to reach Western Fells and reduce the number of trips to achieve the objective, as well of course as...
