Re: New covid restrictions

It is quite a minefield, I would suggest a solo drive to an isolated mountain, do your walk and try to respectfully avoid others for social distancing. Re: New covid restrictions

A current issue is the travel restrictions from one level area to another. If in a level 3 ( many areas) you cannot travel to the highlands - level 2. So please bear that in mind. :(

Re: Cairngorm Funicular Resurrection

As a snowboarder/mountain biker/hill walker, i wish they would remove all trace of the funicular from the mountain, even when it was fully operational it was the poorest form of snow sports uplift in Scotland, Modern snowsport enthusiasts want chairlifts and gondolas, not T bars that try to disloca...

Re: Cairngorm Funicular Resurrection

The main thing is that public crowding is not advisable, given the current corona restrictions I don't fancy going into a crammed funicular. So it seems pretty doomed before it's even fixed. If wee Nicola is advising not going to another's house how is cramming into to the funicular going to happen ...

Lock down environmental improvements in air quality

I've read a few articles on the positive effects on improved air quality in the atmosphere due to the reduced air travel restrictions. I just wondered if anyone has noticed it at a local level rather than text productions. I also wonder if the reduced air travel will be off set by road increased tra...

Re: Proposed Reintroduction of Lynx....thoughts?

A managed re-introduction to certain wild areas may balance up the wild ecosystem a bit. I don't know if they would predate on livestock and the problem being farmed livestock is so wide spread and is someone's livelihood.

Re: Tent Advice

I walked it and camped it , once was enough. I spoke with a number of people who had walked it a number of times and they recommended the lodges as you can get a decent sleep with you gear dropped off by the courier between your next planned stop. Recover for the next long day. I tried it and my wal...

Re: Managing tourism - working together

The French system is certainly one we can learn from. Thy wouldn't tolerate the £9 or more fees imposed in some places in Scotland or other parts of Great Britain, they would boycott it.
