Sidlaw Hills, a local evening wander

A family and friend evening walk was organised on the first good weather day and Auchterhouse Hill was chosen as some were fairly new to the hillwalking experience.

Re: Ben Venue from the main Car Park at visitor centre

Hi Rod Enjoyed this as I'm looking to do this hill and Ben A'an next spring - a lot of ascent for a relatively wee hill - there seem to be quite a few ups and downs along the way. You must be catching up with your backlog of reports now?????????? Hi Gordie, I am slowly catching up. You will really ...

Ben Venue from the main Car Park at visitor centre

Ben Venue was to be the chosen hill for today, a good path most of the way and a fine weather day, it promised to be a good hill day all round.

Stob a'Choin, a very hard and steep way

This was going to be my second attempt at this Corbett, the previous time I aborted as I was not in the right frame of mind to undertake the steep climb knowing at the end of the day I wasn't to get any views of note at the summit. I had got so far up the initial slope traversing the slope only to f...

Re: Foot Problems

It depends how long it takes to get a proper diagnosis. Mine took approximately 12 months. Get a podiatrist to get you properly made insoles and keep them in your walking boots. It took three cortisone injections before it finally cleared up, I think it depends on who you get to give you the injecti...

Mayar via Corrie Fee a wee local classic walk

Family friends were visiting and had requested to experience a local hill walk so Glen Doll was an obvious choice being only an hour from home. The weather forecast was good so backpacks were not too heavy. our_route.gpx a.jpg a1.jpg a2.jpg a3.jpg A.jpg a5.jpg a6.jpg a7.jpg a8.jpg a9.jpg a10.jpg a11...

Re: Two far away Corbetts Glen Elchaig

[quote="Sgurr"]We have taken bikes to many a far flung hill, and this is nearly my top track. Certainly much better than the one to Beinn Dronaig. I think it is only equaled by the one to the two northerly Grahams of Ben Armine and Creag Mor. You can surely knock off the last ones in a yea...

Re: Two far away Corbetts Glen Elchaig

Beautiful day but found it hard going. I was so glad we took the bikes :) The sitting down pic was after I fell off the bike  I didn't want to say anything about falling off the bike. I do have a photo of you on the second summit Cairn looking pretty knackered, but thought I'd better not post...

Re: The Sgurr of Eigg, a special wee walk, with views to die

This wee hill is such a landmark shouting out to be climbed. Tried again this summer but the boat times on the day I could go didn't allow it. Your photos are great! :D Hi dogplodder, it was on the ferry when I first met you on the way back from Rum that I first saw this impressive rock lump and it...
