Re: Sgùrr a' Mhaoraich (And back the same way)

The views in the area are great and well worth the drive down that road. I only did the hill next to it Buidhe Bheinn but it excellent all the same.

Re: 100% sunshine and a melted Tunnocks

Càrn Dearg & A' Chailleach are worth it but does anyone willingly do Càrn Sgulain? Impossible to get the weather right but at least hopefully it wasn't too boggy anywhere. Can't remember the peat hags but I got distracted and went left a bit then up to the summit on the left before tackling the ...

Re: Finding the perfect dip below the sandstone pavement

A very odd summit plateau but fantastic views. Did this a couple of years ago now but it is a great walk for the views and you got the weather for it.

Re: Hit or Miss Summit

I think of a summit like Beinn a'Bhuird in the cairngorms which is pretty flat and where the interesting bit is to the south and realise I don't care.

Re: The Devil's Point via Càrn a'Mhaim

I mean if you went up and back down the south side of Càrn a'Mhaim via the steps there and carried on to the devils point then I would assume so. How far along Càrn a'Mhaim will you want to go. It is a nice walk to just south of Ben Macdui but not sure if you could go down the west side following on...

Re: Glen Doll update May 2022

https://www.outdooraccess-scotland.scot/sites/default/files/2018-05/Publication%202005%20-%20Scottish%20Outdoor%20Access%20Code.pdf Is this not the outdoor access code? Does section 3 not exist especially section 3.10 and 3.11? Yes, they have a responsibility to provide access but trees blowing down...

Re: Glen Doll update May 2022

Again, not their choice. Saying you are aware of rules and then breaking them does not change anything. If land management operations are taking place then they can put up appropriate signage. Indeed, all they had to do was say, that due to the weather, trees were down and normal routes may be block...

Re: Let it all hang out

Senja wrote:Wonder how many ticks they got on their list?

Shame about the body shaming,

I think it would be quite easy to catch a tick early on in that situation, no where for them to hide.

Sun protection would be my concern.

Re: Glen Doll update May 2022

Saying they know about access and then describing a situation that goes completely against the access code is a bit contradictory no?

It is not their choice in what they do.

Re: Glen Doll update May 2022

Does anyone who works for these places actually read the rules on access. Unless someone is actively carrying out work they are not closed. Same with every other route route where storm damage has occurred. Not for others to decide on what is dangerous for individuals where the danger is naturally ...

Great walk, great views. Weather was great and the surrounding landscape is one of the best I have seen.

Re: Walking up to Lochnagar

I eventually got there on my third try due to weather etc back in march 2017. Got there on a sunny day with some snow making the corrie fantastic. I will probably go back on day, get some better pictures. I went up the stone "steps" from the east and descended to lock muick via the souther...
