Re: Where's the picture ? - Scotland (part 2)

An interesting one - is it some kind of Glas Maol circuit? Perhaps with Creag Leacach, Cairn of Claise, Tom Buidhe and Tolmount? (And Carn an Tuirc?!)

Re: A pre-Christmas cracker

just seemed to remember seeing it or reading about it and your name and Perth stuck in my mind being Scottish - then saw your avatar and summary details which states you're from Perth - well done ! Cheers bud! You weren't at the same school as Graeme in Perth by any chance ? I don't think I was, th...

Re: A pre-Christmas cracker

Cheers for the comments guys. Loch nan Eun is a gem of a place I have to agree - popped up there en route to Carn an Righ + Beinn Iutharn Mor in the summer. A really secluded spot, great for a wild camp or the like. Glad you liked the photo! Thanks for all the rest of the comments folks, hopefully y...

A pre-Christmas cracker

I've looked across to An Socach from nearly every conceivable angle, and yet still it has evaded me. Anyway, it was with good forecasts in the east (again) that we decided to head up to get out in the snow. I don't have a lot to write today, hopefully the pictures will say it all! Setting off around...

Re: A snowy Angus jaunt to start the winter season

Cheers everyone. We stay in one of the hideaway lodges behind the Clova hotel every November (hot tub on the deck :D ) Ahh I noticed the lodges! Cracking spot for a getaway though - I'm surprised the water in the hot tub doesn't freeze at those temperatures. It's to my shame that I have yet to to fu...

Re: Snow place like home

Thanks for all the comments guys. Good effort joe,it's double tough in the deep stuff I'm glad it's not only me that found that! Lovely photos! If you want to do Sgiath Chuil on its own, I can recommend the wee circuit from Auchlyne over Meall na Samhna. Thanks very much - I was trying to figure out...

Yup, very good. It's taken from somewhere east of the summit ridge near the top of Gleann Ballach.

Over to you.

Snow place like home

Having had my first taste of this season's snow up Glen Clova the previous day, I decided to aim for a walk slightly more ambitious while the weather was still holding up. The two Munros on the north side of the Glen Dochart had been in the back of my mind for a while - every time I drive along to C...

A snowy Angus jaunt to start the winter season

I couldn't have timed my arrival home for my Christmas holiday any better - the moment I got home on Saturday I started hearing predictions of mass snow disruption over the coming week. Perhaps not ideal for people who have to work for a living, but perfect for me to get out in the lush winter wonde...
