Re: Spar Cave, near Elgol [Skye]

Looks like a great pirates treasure search. The grandkids would think they were pirates of the caribbean if I took them down there. Fantastic. Very true, Monty- I had remarked to Scott as we walked the cave what a perfect treasure hiding spot it would have made. Inside the cave was full of dark hol...

Re: HDR Images

Those are wonderful, Stretch! Admittedly, the technical stuff is lost on me, but I'm glad you've posted the pics. :) I really love the first one of the cannon... in fact I'm fairly certain that pic was taken just down the street from my house- Sharpsburg MD?? Those little hills in the backgr...

Re: Ben Loyal [Sutherland]

You have captured it very well. There is no other area quite like it; I'm very excited to get back there in a couple weeks and explore it further. Thanks for the preview!

Re: Doing things properly = less fun?

after all, don't we escape into them to remove ourselves from rule and dictat? I go to impose order into a chaotic world....so make sure your boots are polished and your trews are tucked into your red socks if you pass me   Oh dear- I count it a good day if my shirt's not on backwards!...

Re: Doing things properly = less fun?

Great post David! Yes, be the crazy and foolish 'you' of a couple of years ago... well, perhaps a more educated version, anyway! I was giggling as I read the original and thinking- yes, YES!... in fact I reckon I started out even more foolish/naive/risky than you a couple of years ago. My style has ...

Re: Wild Camp in Glen Etive - Kinley is lying!

Fab report Kev, a delight to read... though the geeky grammar guru in me enjoyed the alliteration best of all

I can't wait to get out there for this wild camping!! What a life :D

Re: Wild Camping List

Punto is Spanish for "full stop"... like the Nova, an amusing name when applied to a car!

Re: Hello one and all

Hi there, and welcome to the site! I'll echo your sentiment on being totally in love with the highlands... I'm currently planning the next round of mountain adventures for May, can't wait  despite taking the wrong (and dangerous) route up! Yep, done that a few times myself! But there...

Re: new member

Hi Mick and welcome to the site!
Yesterday I was stuck in my office on a beautiful day just dreaming of the hills...! Sounds like you had a good day for it. Feel free to put together a trip report and post some pics from yesterday if you've got 'em :D

Re: Well done Paul & Helen magic 1000!

I found this site in mid-2008 through a random internet search for Beinn Resipol- and have found no other site to match it either before or since. It's been crucial in planning walks in Scotland from far afield- for someone initially unfamilar with many of the areas and just starting out in hillwalk...
